Henri IV (1553-1610)
In remembrance of the death of King Henry IV, assassinated on 14 May 1610, the Virtual Museum of Protestantism has decided to create an exhibition devoted to this monarch, who was of Protestant origin and who did so much to restore tolerance among subjects of differing religious confessions.
Having deliberately omitted the history of his reign itself, we have chosen to focus on several less familiar aspects of his life and legacy: his youth up to the time of his coronation, the individuals who formed his circle, his architectural achievements, and his colonial policy.
