The Americas and the Reformation

An exhibition by Frédéric LERE that traces the historical context behind the Huguenot exodus to the Americas, as well as the legacy of this exile. Until 15 June, Tuesday to Sunday, 2pm to 5pm, at the Museum of Protestantism (81360 FONTRIEU).

This year, the Museum of Protestantism invites you to discover an exhibition of contemporary art, open now until 15 June, Tuesday to Sunday, from 2pm to 5pm for self-guided tours; or by guided tour by booking for groups of more than ten people throughout the week.
Entitled ‘The Americas and the Reformation’, this exhibition by Frédéric LERE traces the historical context that led to the Huguenot exodus to the Americas and explores the legacy of this exile.
The artist sought to understand the impact of transatlantic expeditions on Renaissance France, a period defined by intellectual and artistic renewal, yet also marked by religious conflict and the violence of civil war. His work creates visual connections between the age of the “great discoveries” and our present day.
