Lecture by Mathieu Arnold, Professor of the History of Christianity, Faculty of Protestant Theology, University of Strasbourg.
Winner of the 1952 Nobel Peace Prize, Alsatian Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) was a media personality in his own right. Drawing on both printed and unpublished sources, Mathieu Arnold, who has just written his biography, will present the images that his contemporaries – particularly French and German – had of him and portrayed him, from the 1910s until his death.
